The environmental availability of Accoya as building material is aided by its significant enhancement of its durability and dimensional stability of fast-growing, abundantly available certified wood species, Radiata Pine. This provides compelling environmental advantages over scarce slow growing hardwoods, woods treated with toxic chemicals, and non-renewable carbon-intensive materials such as plastics, steel and concrete.

This allows innovative and outside the box thinking to come into the design and construction industry with Accoya Timber. By rethinking traditional or established material for better material or alternative methods of construction, a better outcome can be achieved for all.

Stylemark Developments have demonstrated this in their use of Accoya at The Atrium, South Morang and also at Shura Drive, Mernda. Their instalment of the garage doors shows the possible future of timber in buildings. They have used innovative fixing with 3M VHB tape to replace traditional screw fixing. This is saving not only in instalment time, but environmentally with replacement of stainless-steel screws. This is proactive approach by Stylemark Developments to find better timber material and methods on garage door instalment. Also, their adoption of factory finished timber, demonstrates the attitude of wanting to save their client time and delays.

This combined approach, has led to a great result for their client, a beautiful low maintenance timber garage door, and an industry first initiative by Gianni and the team at Stylemark Developments.
